WaveLight Plus is the latest innovation in LASIK allowing for enhanced customization and a higher chance of achieving 20/20 vision or beyond. The 3 things that make WaveLight Plus LASIK unique are the SightMap device used to measure the whole eye including any unique imperfections, Ray Tracing technology to simulate the most optimized treatment profile on a digital twin of your unique eye, and a highly precise laser to deliver your unique treatment with microscopic precision. The result? Freedom from glasses and contact lenses, sharp clear vision day and night, and a higher chance of seeing 20/20 or even better.
How does WaveLight Plus LASIK work?
- Using the SightMap device, we take sophisticated, highly detailed measurements of not just your cornea (like other forms of LASIK) but also your entire eye including the lens, the length of the eye, the curvature of the eye, as well as any unique imperfections or quirks about your eye.
- A 3D digital twin (or “eyevatar”) is created for your left eye as well as for your right eye based on the incredibly detailed analysis from the SightMap. Then a sophisticated computer program uses Ray Tracing technology to run simulations for the best laser treatment profile for your unique eye to correct not only your prescription but also to treat
any optical imperfections. Simulations with thousands of light rays are run until the ideal treatment profile is chosen. - The EX500 laser – programed with the information from SightMap powered by RayTracing technology – delivers your unique treatment with microscopic level precision. We’re talking micron level precision – that’s a thousandth of a millimeter – with laser pulses delivered 500 times per second.

- Of course, like all our LASIK procedures, this is an all-laser LASIK procedure with a laser flap and laser vision correction treatment.
- Nearly all patients who had WaveLight Plus would recommend the procedure or choose to have it again.
