Jeffrey Peterson, M.D., Ph.D.

Dr. Jeffrey Peterson is a glaucoma specialist at the forefront of his field. He is not only involved in the detection and treatment of glaucoma but also actively participates in clinical studies to explore new medical therapies and technology.

Medicated eye drops are considered a first line therapy and are generally well-tolerated with minimal side effects. Should medicated eye drops prove insufficient in controlling glaucoma, Dr. Peterson will discuss other treatment options, such as laser procedures and micro-incisional glaucoma surgery, to achieve better control of the intraocular pressure. Dr. Peterson combines sophisticated surgical techniques and cutting-edge technology to slow progression of the disease. He also utilizes traditional surgeries, such as trabeculectomy and tube shunts, when appropriate.
