Near Vision Correction with Raindrop Near Vision Inlay

Age Related Near Vision Loss

Loss of near vision, or presbyopia, happens when your natural lens loses elasticity, making it difficult to change your focus to see objects up close. Everyone will eventually experience presbyopia, making it difficult to read or look at a cell phone without glasses. Presbyopia affects most people in their 40’s and early 50’s.

Raindrop Near Vision Solution

Dr. Tyrie Jenkins is proud to introduce this innovative and unique procedure that is an effective alternative to reading glasses. Raindrop Near Vision Inlay is a minimally invasive and a long term solution to improve near vision.

Raindrop Near Vision Procedure

Raindrop is a microscopic, transparent disc called an “inlay” that is made of approximately 80%  water. In a quick LASIK-like procedure, the Raindrop Inlay is placed just below the surface of the non-dominate eye. It works by reshaping the cornea to improve the ability to focus on near objects while minimally impacting distance vision.

The procedure only takes about 10 minutes, and is performed with a laser, similar to LASIK procedures. Recovery is quick, with many patients resuming normal activities the next day. Patients see an improvement in vision within one week and vision continues to improve for several weeks.
